Canon Jackson was the vicar of St James's Church on York Street in Leeds for 46 years. During his lifetime, he carried out remarkable work in the poverty-stricken district of Kirkgate in Leeds. He was so famous in Leeds that when he died, it is reported that nearly the whole city turned out for his funeral. 200 clergy, and 1,500 children walked in his funeral procession! This video tells the story of one of Leeds forgotten heroes.
