Even though we got stuck on the ride, it was a fantastic experience! Getting stuck is a common occurrence, even back when it was Splash Mountain, and it adds a unique twist to the adventure.
We had a blast and couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire situation. The cast members were friendly and professional, ensuring we were safe and entertained. This just added to the charm and excitement of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, making it a memorable ride we’ll never forget!
Some History
Splash Mountain has been a beloved log-flume ride at Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, and Tokyo Disneyland since it opened in 1989 at Disneyland and 1992 at Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland. The ride featured characters from the classic tales of Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Fox, and Br'er Bear.
Transformation
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure:
In June 2020, Disney announced that Splash Mountain would be reimagined as "Tiana’s Bayou Adventure," inspired by the 2009 animated film "The Princess and the Frog." This exciting transformation is set to debut in late 2024 at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom.
The Princess and the Frog:
"The Princess and the Frog" tells the enchanting story of Tiana, a young woman in 1920s New Orleans who dreams of opening her own restaurant. Through a magical adventure, she meets Prince Naveen, who has been transformed into a frog. Together, they journey through the bayou to break the spell and achieve their dreams.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure:
The new attraction invites guests to join Tiana and her friends on an adventure through the bayou as they prepare for a unique Mardi Gras celebration. Set after the events of the film, the ride features new characters, vibrant music, and the magic of New Orleans, capturing the spirit and culture of Louisiana.
