ABOUT THE VIDEO:
Finishing the construction of our Iveco Daily 3510 Motorhome, we'll finally show you how to do and how not to do the interior lining of your motorhome's walls and ceiling.
In Chivunk, our motorhome built on an Iveco Daily 3510 van, we chose to use 3mm-thick white MDF for the wall and ceiling cladding and finishing. We chose this material because we believed it would be faster and more practical.
Because MDF is sold in 1.80x2.70m sheets, we thought we would need fewer cuts and fewer steps to finish the van. However, as you can see in the video, the process ended up being time-consuming and labor-intensive.
Because we had a lot of stuff inside the motorhome, we needed to make a lot of cuts in the MDF and worked hard to keep everything aligned to maintain a high-quality finish.
In the end, we achieved a considerably good result, but it took a considerable amount of time. If we were to build another motorhome today, we would probably use pine wood for the walls and ceiling cladding.
As explained in the video, pine wood is inexpensive and very easy to work with. Pine wood also lends a pleasant and cozy feel to your motorhome's interior, and can be varnished or painted in a variety of colors.
The most common finishes for motorhomes, I believe, are MDF, pine, and Formica, but we'd love to hear if you've used any other materials or have any other ideas. If so, leave a comment below to let us know.
