Many home projects start with excavation. Some times its as simple as digging a deck footing all the way up to excavation for your new home. As an inspector I run into all kinds of crazy things that were found in the ground and sometimes those things can add complications to a new project.
Its also important to understand how the minimum depth of excavation is determined and what implications there may be for under excavation or over excavation.
