First off, let's consider the concept: Archaeology.
It's pretty original, and because of that, it's pretty interesting.
The game has a very unique ambience, but that ambience is created because of the bad graphics, so no, it wasn't a compliment at all.
The graphics really need to be improved, they lack of consistency, sometimes there are no graphics on any place (I.E., one-color backgrounds, or simply no backgrounds at all), and as soon as you see that lack, well, you get disturbed and the game isn't that enjoyable.
Some sprites are glitchy, too, and in some cases they difficult the gameplay as well.
But else than all that, there are some aspects that make this hack special, and good as well.
As mentioned before, the concept is very original, and it's really funny to move Mario through pyramids collecting all kind of treasures (actually, only weird stuff) and prizes.
The story is, well, is simply perfect, what I mean is, that it's awesome to know that a princess will kill you if you don't bring her any kind of weird treasures, think about it, what a motivation!
No, really, it's a concrete storyboard, and seriously, you don't feel like needing any other explanation of why you are playing the game.
In other words, shut up and play.
Now, the gameplay is just great, as running and jumping through the scenarios is really entertaining, even if it doesn't look like it, but some wrong sprites make the gameplay get glitchy and hard, but else than that, everything's good.
The difficulty is just perfect, any veteran player can play this game, also beginners can get used to this game, as it's perfectly balanced (speaking about enemies and the scenery difficulty) and funny as well.
Mainly, the concept's the thing that make this hack as good as it is, just thinking about picking up treasures to avoid getting murdered by a princess with a gun, a bazooka or something simply makes you wish to play as soon as possible.
Anyway, just be sure to check this one out, it's worth your time, or at least that's my opinion.
