------------

You will instantly get transported to the golden days of Super Mario Bros. 3 with this hack.
It can be considered as a redesign of SMB3 as well, as it has better graphics but basically the same enemies, as well as some new.
Now, as for the gameplay, the graphics and the scenarios make you feel truly comfortable and safe, you truly feel as in the old days.
But there's a TERRIBLE mistake on this hack.
The difficulty of the worlds reaches high levels before you even get to the first castle, as the scenarios get almost saturated in enemies when you less expect it, letting you with further no choice than receiving a hit and run, use savestates very frequently or simply die. If you don't lure the enemies correctly or if you simply run through the levels, a multitude of monsters will be after you, so you must be slow and precise, and that makes the hack get weak.
It may be pleasant for expert players at the beginning to play, but as you get to the fourth world (or even before), the business here gets bad, so even experienced players will be in trouble; this lamentably causes for beginners and even veteran players to give up before reaching the second world, this scares the people, and that isn't exactly what we are looking for.
As for the enemies, they are put in large groups and in wrong spots, the meaning of this is that you simply can't avoid them and that if you don't get a mushroom soon you'll pay for it in a few steps.
Clearing this mistake would make the hack almost perfect, but lamentably this is the final version, so the hack will remain as is:
For expert players only.
Now, watching the scenery and the sprites, everything is in order, and the scenarios are correctly (and very efficiently, i must say) placed and ordered, so for the visual we have positive points.
The sprites are pretty ingenious and funny, but a very few sprites aren't working completely or even at all (the spiny guy on the first level is an example [01:09]), and a bad loss is that small Mario can't crouch, so he only moves right, left and up.
The story is typical, but it's somewhat weird that Mario had to wait 6 months before he decided to save the princess, in anyway, it looks like it's not all about story on this game, it's about the old-school gaming experience, or maybe that is what the author thought while making this hack.
Now, the title: "Super Mario World: The Quest On Quiet Island"
Well... that definitely won't fit any cartridge, and it doesn't even looks decent a cartoon, a book, or a CD, but it's something different that you haven't seen in any other boring 8-letters games, OK, i guess you get the point.
It's a very nice hack that can be easily enjoyed, until you notice the terribly adjusted difficulty level, actually, this mistake lowers the hack's quality so badly, that you want to leave the hack on the third, or even second level, and if this isn't enough for you, wait until you reach the "Fish Assault" level.
There are several "Fish Assault" levels on this hack, those consist on several fishes attacking you through the air, so if you don't have enough upgrades, you'll die for sure.
It may not look like it, but the thing here gets really ugly due to the enemies, if you simply can't believe it, go and try it by yourself, you should receive a surprise.
As overall, i must establish that you will have fun even with this difficulty level, it gets amazingly hard that it is funny, just try it, you'll like it.
That was this week's review, hope you enjoyed the review, and as always, have a great day.

And stay tuned!
