Harvesting garlic bulbils! These mini garlic bulbs are ready to be harvested and dried out for planting in the fall. Today I'm harvesting the bulbils of my garlic plants.

When you plant a garlic clove into the ground, it grows into a bulb underground. But it also produces garlic scapes. I usually harvest the scapes but this year I wanted to see what would happen if I left the plant as is.

The scape produces a pod and inside this pod are tiny little bulbs of garlic called bulbils. Once the plant has died off and dried up, you can harvest these bulbils and plant them. You'll want to let them dry in a cool area and then plant them in the fall. Stay tuned for an upcoming video where I show you how I plant them!
