Day 2 of Main House Insulation
Day 2 of main house insulation. We moved 5 pallets of R30 insulation into the house to get it out of the sun and prepositioned for installation. Each pallet contained 12 bags wrapped in groups of 4. Each bag contained approximately 30 square feet of insulation. All 60 bags will cover a total wall area of 1800 square feet. The total cost of the insulation delivered was $4000. We used the removable forks and attached them to the bucket of our little blue Ford 1900 tractor. Each pack of four bags weighed 160 pounds and was rather awkward to maneuver. Fortunately, the tractor was able to move the 2400 pounds of insulation fairly easily. It was all loaded into the master suite until it gets placed into the wall cavities.
