Why PaperCut?
Like, why does PaperCut the company even exist?
So, it turns out our co-founder, who we’ll call Chris - because that’s his name, was a sysadmin in a high school. And he wanted to bring EVERYTHING UNDER HIS CONTROL.
If the students stole the computer mouse trackballs, Chris would find them and glue them in. A solution - quite often creative - for every problem!
But there was one IT challenge he simply couldn’t solve with the tools at his disposal - wasted paper left at the printer. Reams of paper each day dumped in the printer’s recycling bin.
So, he wrote a program that gave him the control he so desperately needed. And voila, no more wasted printing paper.
And then workplaces started buying it.
So he roped in his coding pal from university, we’ll call Matt (because that’s his name too) and together they created PaperCut. In a garage.
PaperCut still has its first customer and first staff member AND its second and continues to find ways to enable thoughtful printing for the world’s workplaces.
We’re not trying to eliminate printing, we just want to help you bring it under control. Although between you and me, we’re for trees and wouldn’t be THAT upset if the world went paperless. We are PaperCut, after all!
And that’s what PaperCut is all about.
