Poem dedicated to my impending 20th birthday - exactly 3 months away.
Twenty,
Oh, I will be.
I shut my eyes and I am ten.
I am a child,
In my parents' den.
Plastic toys,
Used and scattered.
Through the daily noise,
Memories cluttered
I randomly recall.
And so, we rinse and repeat.
Recycled and,
Kept.
Many memories sunk like sand
Played over and over
In times of eat;
Two -- oh!
Already near,
Flew like raging ammo.
I shut my eyes and I am teen.
Under my parents' united wing.
Taking
Two, ah, bus
I was a shy guy.
Startled by socialism,
I s-s-sensibly stuttered.
Those days are behind I.
Decade in decline,
Scouring on the incline;
Twenty,
Ya better be ready.
And a small riff of harmonica playing.
