Chopin - Nocturne in C# minor (posthumous)
A couple things to know about this Hardman square grand piano from 1864:
1. It has original action and strings (yes, 157 years old!) and hasn't seen a technician yet, so therefore has some clicks and irregularities in the action. Dynamic range is limited, because if played too softly, notes fail to speak.
2. Certain notes have a hard time speaking at any velocity, specifically middle C and C# and the G# below... so I decided to play a piece in C# minor. rolleyes
3. Due to this type of action, keys must be released completely before they will speak again (unlike modern action where a key may be lifted a fraction and the action will reset). Therefore, trills are particularly exciting and require very high technique.
