Railfanning Some NS Action Ft 4002 PAR/B&E Former B&M In Mechanicville & Former D&H At Delanson
Well here we are Railfanning some NS today around the former B&M & D&H. Starting off we went to Mechanicville to see if there’s anything running on pan am/Berkshire & eastern on the former B&M and there was we saw 16R with NS 4002 trailing which was tied down waiting for 264/B100 to bypass. However it was hard to get a better shot of it because of the trees blocking it I wish I was able to make it to the other side but vial avenue was closed due to road work which I could of gone all the way around on central avenue but I wouldn’t be able to make it in time to catch something going by but it’s still better than nothing. So then along the freight subdivision on the former D&H we went to Schenectady and we saw 30T going by very slow so therefore beating it to catch it before we ever missed it we went all the way to delanson to catch it which luckily I did just a minute after I set up, then while on our way back home I went over burdeck street crossing in Rotterdam and saw the Lorham rail grinder tied down at Rotterdam yard and I also saw some of the GE plant switchers too so it was our very lucky day. I was waiting for another NS but that was all the action for today but I still chilled there to do some live vlogging to show around the perfect Railfan spot. Here on the NS Binghamton line former D&H south end the NS delanson yard where they sometimes tie down work there picking up & drop off freight there then the SMS lines comes to get some for interchanges. The NS line that SMS lines runs on is now gonna have NS 264/265 going through there soon for back up rerouting on the CSX Selkirk subdivision. The NS Binghamton line that runs between Schenectady & Binghamton was owned by CP but then due to them rarely ever running on that line since they mostly run between the port of Albany & Montreal, CP sold it & was bought by NS in 2015, but they still go work at Mohawk yard & they still go to the GE plant to get some generators there sometimes.
