Shots from the Half-Life 2 Beta (2001)
A compilation of shots of various maps from the 2001 Era of the Half-Life 2 Beta/Leak.
The HL2 Beta has always fascinated me, mainly due to the cut story and dark atmosphere of it. The purpose of this video is not only to show off the 2001 maps, but to also capture the general ambiance from them.
A lot of the maps shown have been patched and fixed by the community to remove most texture bugs, missing models, crashes, etc. So not all maps are 100% accurate to what they actually were like back when Valve made them. However, the patches/fixes still attempt to keep everything as original as possible.
