Let’s discuss Rener Gracie’s recent involvement in the court case between Jack Greener who experienced a horrific accidental injury that resulted in a broken neck during jiu-jitsu sparring with his instructor, black belt Francisco Iturralde, when the instructor attempted the classic Leo Viera back take.
Since then, people in the BJJ community have rallied against Rener for throwing Iturralde under the bus as well as common BJJ practices.
My focus in this video, however, is the legal language used by the court which basically appoints Rener Gracie’s interpretation and method of practicing BJJ as the standard that everyone else needs to follow... or else.
