Log into A360, web, and mobile - The AutoCAD Interface
[Narrator] When you're working in your AutoCAD drawings, you can also work with Cloud through AutoCAD as well. So, we're still in our interface .DWG file. That's fine, we've got a live drawing open. It allows us to work with the tools a little bit more affectively in AutoCAD and for me to demonstrate how those tools work. So, in order to work with the Cloud in AutoCAD itself, you need what is known as an AutoDesk account. Now if you're running with something like a subscription version of AutoCAD, you'll find that you already have one of those. It was created when you subscribed to AutoCAD itself. Now, in the AutoCAD interface, to sign into that account, you go up here, where it says "Sign In." So, if I click on the fly-out arrow here, I can sign in to my AutoDesk account. So, I'll bring up the dial up box. If I don't have an AutoDesk account, I can create an account here, or I can just go on Google and type in AutoDesk account, and find the page to create one there also. So I'll put my email or username in. So I'm signing in now to the Cloud via AutoCAD. So cadfmconsultants is my username; click on next. It'll prompt me for a password; so let's pop the password in, and click on Sign In, like so. So now I'm signed in. You'll notice that it changes, and it says "Welcome to AutoDesk A360" I can update my profile and preferences if I want to. But you'll notice now, there's my username, there's my little blue icon, lettin' me know that I'm signed in. And you'll notice now that once I'm signed in I can access my account details, purchase options, and manage my AutoCAD license if I wish. Now what this also means now in later versions of AutoCAD or AutoCAD 2019, AutoCAD 2020, I can save to web and mobile. Now these are these icons up here on the ribbon. Open from web and mobile, and I can also save to web and mobile. AutoCAD has a web app, AutoCAD also has a mobile app. So what it means is, is that I can save this drawing, the interface drawing, to web and mobile, and I can open it using the web-based app in a browser, and I can also open it in the mobile app, say on a tablet whilst I'm out on sight, measuring up desk space or whatever it takes for this particular drawing. So let's save my interface drawing to web and mobile. I click on the icon, and what'll happen is I get the Save To AutoCAD web and mobile dial up box appear. And there's my file name, Interface, there. So it's going to save it as Interface.DWG. Or I can rename it if I wish. Now I've got various folders all set up here and I can scroll down, and you can see there's lots of different ones available, and there's lots of different drawings that I've got in there as you can see. But all of that is saved in a known location where I work in the Cloud. So what I can do there, I'm not going to worry about folder, I'm just going to hit Save. So that'll save that file now to the interface, and you can see it's changed up there and it now gives me this little prompt here where I can access and edit my drawings anywhere. It's a little tool tip, just reminding me that I can access it using the web app and the mobile app and so on. So I can now just hit the Save icon and what's happening now, is this Interface.DWG is now being saved to the Cloud. To the web and the mobile apps. So what I can do now, is I can close this drawing. Let's close the Interface drawing like so. And you'll notice, look, Recent Documents, I've now got two. One is saved to web and mobile, one is saved to my local drive. But you'll notice now, I can open from the web. So if I click there like so, it'll bring up the dial up box again. So I'm now looking into my Cloud folder, and I need to scroll down, and there's my Interface drawing there. So I can open that up, click on Open. What'll happen now, is it'll open this file. It's the same file, but it's a file I've now opened from the Cloud instead. Gives you that mobility with AutoCAD, saves you dragging your desk-based PC around, your PC desktop AutoCAD app, and you can utilize the mobility tools that are available, the Cloud, the web based app, the mobile app on perhaps a tablet for example. So that's how you work in the Cloud when you're working with your AutoCAD drawings.
