IMTS 2022 - iRobot Vision Scanning Automotive B-Pillar to Create Point Cloud for SPC
At IMTS Metrologic showed off their capability of programming and pulling point cloud data off of an automotive B Pillar, one that belongs to the Jeep in the background!
That cloud data can be compared to a nominal data set to see dimensional offset and utilize GD&T to find out where there may be non-formance to specifications. What makes the collection even more powerful is Metrologic's ability to pass that data downstream to a QMS - quality management system, to combine with data from other devices to provide a truly birds eye view of quality across the organization.
