During World War II, the Pyrenees mountain range served as a refuge and hope for more than 23,000 French escapees. All were driven by the desire to regain their freedom. None of them were ready for what awaited them. Today, it is difficult to imagine what they went through.
So we decided to take the most difficult of these paths, to cross the Pyrenees to Spain, alone and autonomously, seeking to better understand the epic that these thousands of escapees had to go through in search of freedom.
And as you will quickly understand... we were not ready.
