When faith disappears, superstition takes its place. The human soul abhors a vacuum in this regard. Man, created in the image of God, is initially directed toward his Creator. When he loses God in his heart, the resulting vacuum demands to be filled, and he readily adopts the substitutes offered by the world around him. One such substitute is astrology.
