Welcome to Kilimanjaro Subnrise
In this video
we are going to discuss
the five must-have items
for Kilimanjaro.
Number 5
A BUFF
We do have it listed
on our gear list,
but it is an essential item
Not only is it good
to shield
your mouth and nose
if the wind kicks up,
but it also blocks your skin
from the sun.
Additional,
when you are heading down
the scree slope
after the summit,
it is the perfect way
to keep all the volcanic dust
out of your mouth.
Number four on our list
are wipes.
We give you a
warm bowl of water
to wash up with
but wipes do
a much better job
at the nooks
and crannies.
These should be wipes like
REI’s No Rinse Bathing Wipes,
Surviveware Biodegradable wipes,
or Rinse Free
Bath Sponges
Speaking of getting clean,
Number three on our list is
Dr. Bronners 18-in-1 Hemp
Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap.
Not only can you use it
to wash your bits and pieces,
hair, face, and hands,
but you can also use it
to wash your clothes.
This applies to both
on the mountain
and in your hotel
where you can
hand wash items
if you need to.
Of course, the hotel
can do your laundry
since they have a laundry service.
They can wash anything.
They can even perform magic
on your filthy hiking shoes.
They’ll look brand new
for a mere $5-7.
Number two
on our list are fleece pants.
They are great to slip into
once you are done
washing up.
They will keep you
warm and cozy
as you rest
at camp.
And finally,
the number one
must-have item
on Kilimanjaro are
Camp Slippers.
We mention these
on the packing list.
Where they are listed
as optional.
However, we guarantee
you’ll love having them.
Once you get to camp
you’ll want to take off
your hiking shoes
and socks
and wash your feet.
The last thing
you'd want to do
is put dirty footwear
back on your clean feet.
We hope these tips
help you have
an even better
Kilimanjaro climb.
