THE LINE is a 170 km belt of the hyper-connected future community built around nature, without cars or roads, to some of the most pressing challenges facing humanity today, including: outdated infrastructure, pollution, traffic,and human congestion.
A cornerstone of Saudi Vision 2030, as the kingdom's economic engine, it aims to promote diversification and contribute 380,000 future jobs and 180 billion SAR (US $ 48 billion) to national GDP by 2030.

By 2050, one billion people will have to relocate due to rising CO2 emissions and sea levels. 90% of people breathe polluted air. Why do we need to sacrifice nature for development? And why do we have to put up with wasting years of life on our commute? This brings us to the introduction of NEOM, THE LINE. A city with a potential population of 1 million, protecting 95% of the nature in NEOM, and having zero cars, roads, and CO2 emissions."

All important services of daily life, such as schools, clinics, leisure facilities and green spaces, are within a 5-minute walk. Ultra-fast transit and autonomous mobility solutions facilitate travel and give residents the opportunity to regain time for health and well-being. It is not expected to take more than 20 minutes.
The LINE community is cognitive and powered by artificial intelligence. The AI continually learns proactive ways to make life easier and free up time for residents and businesses. An estimated 90% of the available data is used to improve infrastructure capacity, well above the 1% normally used in existing smart cities.
