Tools/Supplies Needed:
-clean rags
-silicone spray or interior conditioner
Procedure:
Always be careful when opening a frozen vehicle door as you can damage the door handle, especially with newer models of vehicles that have plastic handles.
With the door open, you’ll see you have rubber gaskets around the perimeter of the opening, either on the door or on the jamb. Use a clean cloth to wipe down the gaskets removing any dirt.
Follow up with another clean cloth and your choice of an interior plastic conditioner or a food-safe silicone spray, something which won’t deteriorate the rubber.
Do this for all the gaskets, this will help repel any water and if any ice forms, this provides a none stick surface. This can be done before every winter season, so once a year.
