This webinar will demonstrate using KBase to identify and characterize gene features in bacterial genomes. Attendees will learn how to construct feature sets in KBase, build and trim multiple sequence alignments (MSAs), create hidden Markov models (HMMs) from these MSAs, and use these HMMs to search for and identify genes of interest. This is the second in a series of webinars covering microbial genomics in KBase. Future sessions will cover annotating protein families, domain profiling, and performing phylogenetic analysis.
