If you watched my previous video, you'll probably know that my friends gifted me a drone for my birthday (If you haven't watched it, what are you waiting for?!)
In this video, I'll be showing you my drone shopping experience at the very first DJI Flagship store here in Shenzhen. Da-Jiang Innovations (大疆创新), commonly known by its trading name as DJI opened this flagship store in 2015. The 800 square meter flagship’s interior architecture is based on the concept of yuan, the Chinese word for "circular." It is symbolic of DJI's drone propellers, which form a circular shape when in motion. Some of the store highlights include a drone flying cage, where the DJI pilots perform demos throughout the day and the repair counter on the third floor where there’s a team of customer-support staff to provide technical assistance, help with firmware updates and make reservations for drop-off repair.
DJI is a global leader in developing and manufacturing drone and camera technology for commercial and recreational use. What sets them apart from their competitors is their expertise in flight-control technology and camera stabilization. The company is dedicated to making aerial photography and filmmaking equipment for applications in film, advertising, construction, fire fighting, farming, and many other industries. It’s operations currently span in North America, Europe and Asia.
Having been a huge fan of DJI even before I moved to Shenzhen, I anticipated all DJI products to be significantly cheaper in Shenzhen. Although there is a slight price difference when comparing the prices in the western market, they are not as cheap as I would have expected (typically the products are about 50 USD cheaper).
