This is one of the cheapest ways to obtain a functioning vermicompost worm bin. All you need to do is get two bins, a drill, box cutter, Red Wiggler worms (found cheap online) and the rest can be found around your house. This project shouldn't cost you more than $15 and that may include the cost of fuel to pick up the supplies.
The simple compost design will have the worms working for you as the eat and process your kitchen scraps, grass clippings, nuisance weeds, and even your important documents that you usually burn or shred (the CIA and other top agencies dispose their documents this way). In turn the worms excrete (worm castings) and have it drain through the bottom to be captured in the other bin that will then be your worm compost tea concentrate. This compost tea can save you some serious money and help grow your roots in your yard, garden, lawn, any plants. Mix the concentrate with water 1 cup of worm compost with 5 cups of water. (dilute the mix so it doesn't harm the plants) you can apply directly to the plant as it will soak it in through the leaves or add to the soil and the roots will absorb it also.
11x richer in potash, 7x richer in phosphate, and 5x richer in nitrogen than your average lawn soil.
