It was getting dark and cold as the sun started dipping toward the horizon. I had just finished eating a snack/dinner. I was mostly warmed up but in my mind I still needed a few more attempts before I was really primed to try hard. I didn't expect to send this go. In fact I didn't expect to send today at all. I had packed my truck for a few nights ready to dig deep and put in a lot of work on the proj.
The go before this attempt was the worst the crux move/hold (second move) had ever felt. It was unusable and I dropped off without even trying the move. I rested for 2 minutes. I took a lot of deep breaths which was mostly to warm up my body because the air was now below 40 degrees. I kept my puffy on because quite frankly I was not psyched to take it off.
I crawled into the starting position. I lifted my ass off the ground. To my surprise I stuck the crux move, to my even greater surprise, I did the next move and for the first time ever the friction felt good on that hold. 1 minute later I found myself standing on top.
Shocked.
I didn't change my camera settings before the attempt because I wasn't even remotely expecting to send so pardon the autofocus freaking out.
