What would you do if the major stock markets were to return less than 2% for the next 10 years?
If you had invested in the S&P 500 at the end of the last century, first due to the bursting of the Dot-Com bubble and then the global financial crisis, after 10 to 15 years you would have seen nominal returns close to zero and negative real returns.
Would you be willing to invest in the stock market knowing that for the next 10 years, your colleague who only buys bonds will earn more than you? I certainly wouldn't.
To avoid facing a lost decade, I've developed a strategy that I hope will allow me to continue earning 7 or 8% annually for the next 10 years.
