Career burnout is recently becoming an important topic in the context of the IT sector, with COVID and the shift to remote work shaking the existing status quo, bringing in new opportunities but also new stressors. On the other hand, financial freedom and the concept of being independent is getting more and more attractive, especially with the recent wave of layoffs in the technological sector.
Both of those topics are related to and can be alleviated by various ways of working outside of your main workplace. In this session I’d like to explore various motivations and benefits that after-hours activity can bring to the table, what options do we actually have for additional work as well as how it all ties up into our overall wellbeing.
