it is well known in the Buddhist teachings that materialism is no source of happiness, because it is in permanent and eventually leads to dissatisfaction even. Which is a form of suffering of course. In this talk I explain how it is the attachment to material things that is the root cause of suffering in this context, not the things themselves. which means that being a materialist doesn't mean you have a lot of material things. It means you're attached to material things regardless of whether you have a lot of them or not .
