Help Patients Make FASTER Decisions

Guess how many decision the average person makes every day?

The answer: About 30,000!

Here's the problem... That's too many! If we had to go though a deep, logical analysis of that many decisions every day, we'd never get anything done.

So, how do we do it?

The truth is we don't put much thought into most of our decisions. We look for reliable shortcuts.

Instead of researching a new product, we just look at the reviews. Or ask a friend. Or ask for feedback on social media.

Probably the most common shortcut we use to help us make decisions is... feelings! In fact, research has found that about 95% of our decisions are driven more by feelings and emotions as opposed to logic.

The reason "logic" doesn't always move the needle in patient care is because not only does it fail to connect with the emotional side of people's brain (the decision-making side), but it also fails to serve as the "shortcut" people rely on for making decisions.

When patients are "on the fence" about a decision, here a few shortcuts you can use to help patients make a decision.

Stories: Tell a story of a patient who had success with a product you sell.
Social proof: Ie. 80% of our patients purchase this brand.
Testimonials: Have the staff recommend the same eyecare products they use.
