2023 Prince Claus Mobile Lab in Morocco
The Prince Claus Mobile Labs are alternative co-thinking spaces where cultural changemakers can meet and exchange ideas. Co-curated in collaboration with our Impact Awardees, the Mobile Labs respond to the necessities of their specific community, serving needs on the ground while enabling knowledge to be collaboratively shared through lectures, workshops, discussions, and field trips.
Our first Mobile Lab in 2023 took us to Morocco, where visual artist and 2022 Impact Awardee, Hassan Darsi, co-curated days of public events, cultural trips, and an exhibition together with the Prince Claus Fund. Joining us were 2021 Seed Awardees Sana Chamakh and Mehdi Ouahmane, 2022 Seed Awardees Khtek, Sofiane Byari, Baya Medhaffar and Sofiane Bakouri, and 2021 Mentorship Awardee Youssef El Indrissi, all of whom were participants in the Lab week.
The Lab addressed the urgency of critically assessing public space and citizenship, while celebrating the 25th anniversary since the foundation of the cultural laboratory La Source du Lion.
