Who's going to Mycofest?
💥Next week me and several Texas folks will be headed up to PA for @mycofest to explore and learn from experts from all over the globe! Excited for cooler temps and more rain. ⛈️
Although, we've been 💞 by the 🌧️ in Texas this summer. Enjoy this reel of the fungal diversity in the forests of Central Texas from the last few days. I use LCRA Hydromet and follow the pink zones where there is 🔼 rainfall. Onion Creek and Mckinney Roughs are great spots. Today I found a Devil's Cigar, our state mushroom on a Cedar Elm stump! 🤯 They don't typically appear until the fall.
I will be bringing a few specimens to MycoFest for people that want to do DNA or analysis so we know what compounds are in the fruiting body of #chorioactisgeaster
