This event is brought to you by Leeds coder Lee Richardson:

"F# is my language of choice. It hits a sweet spot of safe, powerful, and simple for me. I want to demonstrate to the unconvinced some practical benefits of F# that might push you to use it for your next project or just keep as a handy tool in your toolbox.

We'll use some Type Providers which allow us to auto-generate types at compile-time for various things we want to interact with safely. As we do so we'll encounter interesting language features and functional concepts which we'll explore from a firmly practical "Why would a C# dev want to do this?" point of view.

Zero F# or Functional Programming specific knowledge assumed!"

Bio
Lee Richardson currently consults for Infinity Works and before that was a Senior Engineer at Jet2. He started out from writing small games in C for his friends. Pre-covid he was also a dance teacher with a focus on technical understanding; the "how" and "why".
