Stream Processing with Apache Kafka and .NET

We start with an overview of Apache Kafka, and what stream processing is. This is followed by looking at the internals of Kafka. In the internals we look at partitions, and how we achieve scalability and performance by consumer groups. After having picked up knowledge around Kafka we look at how to publish and consume messages using .NET, and the Confluent .NET client. We finish this demo filled session by looking at some examples of stream processing.
The talk will be about 1 hr long.

Niels is Software Architect at Derivco in Durban, and he is a SQL Server Data Platform MVP. He is a published author and acclaimed speaker at industry conferences.
His technology interests are databases, especially SQL Server, where he works closely with Microsoft, streaming data, Kafka, and data analysis.
