When your kid's dirt bike or pit bike won't start you can learn to tackle the job yourself. Most of the time this is a DIY job and you won't need to take the bike to a shop.
Using a 2015 Yamaha TTR50 this video shows 4 things you can check when your bike won't start. This uses basic mechanics tools which are listed in the video as well.
This is Part 1 of a 2 part series
If you try the first three things and need to clean the carburetor check our Part 2 for a detailed cleaning process.

This applies to many other small bikes like the crf50 and crf110, ttr110, pit bikes and even larger motorcycles. These are things that are good to check when any engine isn't starting.
