Introducing Mohammed, our 20-year-old patient from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 who sustained a C6-C7 incomplete spinal cord injury following a motorbike accident. Last year, Mohammed joined us in Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭 for Epidural Stimulation treatment, receiving two devices implanted at both the cervical and lumbar levels. Now, after 12 months, he’s back with us for remapping his stimulator and checking his progress.
Before the treatment, Mohammed had no sensation or ability to move his legs and struggled with unstable grasping. Post-surgery, his endurance and strength have significantly improved. Mohammed can now perform more intensive exercises, grasp large objects firmly, and pinch small objects like beads and coins. His leg movement and control have also enhanced, along with better body balance.
Our therapists have noticed Mohammed’s impressive progress, seeing improvements in his body balance, strength, and motor functions like grasping small objects. Mohammed’s goal remains to improve his motor functions, stand up, take assisted steps, reduce spasms, and enhance muscle mass and strength.
