Hello Korean learners! 👋
In this video, we're starting with basic level listening exercises prepared as part of Korean 1.1 Introduction Unit. Are you ready to test how accurately you can hear Korean characters, syllables, and words?
In this exercise, you need to find the correct answer from the options that appear on the screen for the sounds you hear. The exercise starts with a sample question (보기 - bogi) and consists of a total of 10 questions.
🎧 What will you learn in this video?
This test will especially help you improve your ability to distinguish between similar sounds and words.
✨I've included the sound ㅗ, which you often confuse, in the questions. Because it's often confused with the "u" sound during listening. But the "u" sound (ㅜ) is a clearly audible sound. If you're unsure whether someone said "o" or "u" during a listening exercise, they probably said "ㅗ". ✨The same applies to words that undergo similarity. For example, the letter ㅈ mostly corresponds to the "c" sound, but in some cases it fluctuates between "c," "j," and "ç." Koreans even use this letter for "z" in foreign words. So, if you're unsure whether it's "c" or "ç," it's probably "ㅈ." The "ㅊ" sound won't leave you in doubt.
📝 How to Study?
1. Take your book or a piece of paper and write down your answers.
2. The exercise will start with an example (보기) to show you how the system works.
3. Then, for each question, it will first read the question number (like "일 번" for question 1) and then repeat the word you need to find in the options twice.
4. After the second repetition, I've added an extra 10 seconds for you to think. During this time, note which of the options (① / ② / ③) you chose.
5. In the second part of the video, you will have another chance to listen to the audio. Afterwards, you will be able to check your correct and incorrect answers.
