MCCAIN: "We've got tough economic challenges ahead of us. They are very difficult. And we're going to have to meet them, and I have a fundamental belief in the greatness and future of America, but we are in some tough times.
"My friends. The first thing we got to do is make the Bush tax cuts permanent so that the American families and businesses will not experience a tax increase. We need to pass this stimulus package through the Congress of the United States and stop fooling around with it, get it done. Get it to the President's desk. So that we can help with their, restore this economy. And don't put a whole lot of pork-barrel projects on it while it's on its way through the Senate of the United States of America."
