Amsterdam: More Than Hookers & Hash
Sure, the red light district is a popular attraction, but there is so much more to see and do. So hop on a bike, throw on your raincoat and start exploring the beautiful city of Amsterdam.
There is more to Amsterdam than hookers and hash. There's canal boats, cozy pubs and rain.There's ebony row houses, brown cafes and rain. There's bicycles...everywhere. This is how they take their children to school, commute to work and meet friends for dinner. And, finally, yes, there is sun. And, if you venture a short distance outside the city, there are cycle trails, leading through green pastures, fishing villages with traditional cottages, along the water, high on top of the dykes, surrounded by the sea. And, again, there is rain. Whether it's the fantasies of a pleasure seeking young man or the realities of a rainy day, the Dutch seem to take it all in stride.They know you can't change human nature and you certainly can't change mother nature. They even have a saying "behind every cloud there is sun". Which is true. Only it just might not happen until you are on the plane headed home.
