5 Times HITLER Was Almost ASSASSINATED
Adolf Hitler, the dictator behind Nazi Germany's rise, encountered numerous assassination attempts during his regime's rule. These attempts were made by individuals and groups seeking to eliminate Hitler and disrupt the Nazi political apparatus.
Over the course of Hitler's rule, especially after the outbreak of World War Two and during the war, various individuals and resistance groups made several unsuccessful attempts on his life. These efforts included poisoning plots, sniper attacks, and other clandestine schemes, all aimed at bringing an end to Hitler's regime.
In 1939, Georg Elser attempted to assassinate Hitler by planting a bomb at the Bürgerbräukeller in Munich. However, Hitler left the venue earlier than expected, and the bomb exploded after his departure. Elser was later apprehended and executed by the Nazis.
One of the most famous attempts occurred on July 20, 1944, when German military officers led by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg planned to assassinate Hitler with a bomb during a military briefing. Although the bomb exploded, Hitler survived with minor injuries, and most of the conspirators were swiftly executed.
Although none of these assassination attempts were successful, each one of them highlights the determination of some German individuals, who were poised on eliminating Hitler, for various reasons, most commonly for Germany’s suffering and failure during World War Two.
