The Reggae Boyz met reigning world champions Brazil on October 12, 2003 in an international friendly in Leicester, England. A carnival atmosphere built steadily outside the stadium with dancers, singers and street performers bringing a slice of Jamaican and Brazilian culture to Leicester. A capacity crowd packed into the ground, presenting a sea of eye-catching colour and enthusiasm seldom witnessed at an English football ground before.
Brazil brought out all of their top stars for the encounter, and many felt that they would steam roll the Reggae Boyz. But the Boyz were not fazed and gave the world champions a run for their money. Here we present extended highlights of that encounter. Enjoy!
