After years of constantly thinking about it and also constantly forgetting about it, I finally purchased a third-party router to better monitor, control and secure our wireless devices at home.

The setup process of it is relatively easy if you won't dabble into the more advanced stuff.

Note: I know that a lot of PLDT subscribers tend to bridge their ISP-provided routers by themselves.

There are a lot of tutorials for it online. I just don't want to do it.

PLDT would give its users full administrative control if they asked for it and in return, they would give an Acceptance of Liability Waiver.

PLDT gives out waivers for a reason.

No matter how predatory their waiver is, what we are using as a gateway is still their equipment and therefore, modifying settings to it using super admin privileges without their consent would conflict with their terms and conditions.

Update: I sent a request to PLDT to replace the old ISP router after I bought this router.

The new white version has native IPV6 support and already active out of the box and it's also dual band.

Right now, I have my desktop connected to it directly, since the TP-Link router somehow slowed down its ethernet connection again.

I'm currently getting 200+ DL and 480+ UL on the new ISP router.
