Which components of the security system infrastructure are difficult or impossible to replace in the near future? Presentation Summary:
1. Is a Russian video surveillance system feasible? What is missing? What cannot be replaced in the near future? Competitiveness of Russian products in Russia and abroad. Examples of breakthrough technologies that emulate and surpass foreign competitors. 2. To what extent is import substitution (independence) ensured? What proportion of raw materials and components are Russian, and what portion is imported? How critical is dependence on imported components? What is the current state of the Russian component base? What can be replaced now or in the near future? What cannot be replaced? What are the prospects for the development of domestic microelectronics and components? What timeframes and volumes of component substitution await manufacturers of finished devices?
3. What actions are manufacturers taking to increase import substitution and independence? What is the focus? Substituting raw materials with Russian ones, increasing reserves of scarce (risky) raw materials, relocating production, diversifying suppliers, diversifying technologies and raw materials, and diversifying production sites.
4. Relocating production to friendly countries not under sanctions. How feasible and profitable is this? What problems does this solve, and which ones are added?
5. What are the main challenges with manufacturing in Russia? Low demand that won't justify industrial production of components, a lack of contract manufacturing with the necessary technologies, limited access to necessary production facilities, a lack of investors, a shortage of personnel and/or skills, a shortage of Russian raw materials, expensive resources (electricity, etc.), and high risks (changes in legislation, arbitrary actions by officials and regulatory authorities).
6. How have recent events affected Russian industry? Favorably—increased demand due to the withdrawal of foreign brands—or rather negatively—problems with logistics and the supply of components and raw materials from abroad, economic difficulties, and a decline in effective demand? What is the current situation? What will be the future impact? How has this affected the plans and goals of Russian manufacturers?
7. What government support measures would be most effective? What can the government do for domestic manufacturers?
8. What regulatory documents aimed at import substitution influence the choice of equipment and materials in video surveillance? What does a designer need to know? How is the Russian origin of a product confirmed?
