This film we go underwater and see how carp react to corn stack popped up with half a 14 mm Jungle Squab, on an LQ Rig and a stonze weight placed in the margin with a cobble and gravel, with a scattering of prepared maize as a free offering. Maize is a very cheap and affordable bait that carp love. This is a great way to attract carp and leads them to your hookbait.
In this film you will see the river current is adding movement to my corn stack making it move back and forth which the carp do not like. I have made this observation many times and during this session I made the choice to change my hook bait to a bottom bait ie four pieces of maize which resulted in a quick run. If you know fish are in your swim and you aren't getting a run I suggest changing your bait or try running popups and bottom baits if you can use multiple rods this may increase your hook up opportunities. Also when recasting its a good idea to top up your swim to keep the feeding carp in the area and upping your odds of good rig placement and getting that run.
