Hey guys! I made some cute Valentine's Day crochet coasters and wanted to give them a crisp, even edge. I gave blocking my granny squares for the fist time! I'm sold! This extra step is well worth the little bit of extra time it takes. My squares came out precise and uniform in size.
I used a spray bottle to dampen my granny squares but some crocheters just submerge their squares in water. Alternatively, you can use steam to block your crochet. If you have a hand-held steamer, you can use that. If not, you can use an iron on stem setting. Just don't press your work with the iron. Hold the iron about an inch above your work and hit the steam/mist button.
