I’ve often found myself feeling anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed when interacting with extroverted, high-energy personalities, and I know many introverts experience the same. There’s a hidden social anxiety that comes into play when introverts are around extroverts, and it’s not always easy to pinpoint why. For many of us, it’s the constant need to stay engaged, the quick pace of conversation, and the intensity that can leave us feeling drained or disconnected. Understanding why introverts feel anxious in these environments is crucial to finding ways to manage our energy and protect our peace.
I’ve learned that this anxiety isn’t about a dislike for extroverts, it’s about the difference in how we recharge and connect. Introverts often need more space and time to process interactions, and when we’re placed in extroverted environments, it can feel overwhelming. Through self-care strategies and boundary setting, it’s possible to navigate these social dynamics while staying true to our introverted personality.
If you’ve ever felt drained or anxious in social settings, especially around extroverts, you’re not alone!
