A downed tree extraction
This is a maple tree that was cut down by an arborist who discovered the crotch had a live colony of bees. The section was lowered by crane to the ground. I was called in to relocate the bees. I carefully cut open the trunk section with a chainsaw and removed the entire colony and nest. 2 deep frame brood nest and an additional 5 frames of combs were salvaged and provided back to the bees. The colony rested all night in my basement and fed honey to give them a boost.
