Week 3: The Throne, The Scroll, and the Lamb (Revelation 4-5)
Join @PastorTrentCasto as he teaches on Revelation 4-5, explaining the genre of apocalyptic literature and prophecy to provide context for interpreting Revelation. Pastor Casto walks through John's vision of God on the throne in heaven, surrounded by four living creatures and twenty-four elders engaged in worship. The vision establishes God's sovereignty and paves the way for understanding how His kingdom will come to earth. In chapter 5, John sees a scroll in God's hand that is sealed, prompting John's weeping since no one can open it. An elder says the Lion of Judah has conquered and can open the scroll, but when John looks he sees a Lamb who was slain - picturing Christ's sacrificial death as victory. The Lamb takes the scroll, prompting worship from all creation. This lecture provides rich biblical context and application for these pivotal chapters.
