Harald Haas & team: High-speed internet through LED lights
Reducing energy consumption is a huge societal challenge that helped
inspire Harald Haas and his team, who created ‘LiFi’, a mobile wireless technology that
transmits internet data through light sources such as LEDs (light emitting diodes), which
have a larger bandwidth than radio frequencies. The innovation provides users with wireless
connections that are over 100 times faster than WiFi.
