How to paint easy Power Swords for Warhammer 40k using Contrast Paints that will work for ANY COLOR! You can use this on any power weapon for any faction you want!
In this video I demonstrate a blue sword with a lightning electricity effect on my Imperial Fists Bladeguard Veterans from the Indomitus release from 9th Edition 40k. Many different armies in 40k have variations of power weapons so the beauty of this technique is the ability to really pick any color for the glow for your blades - yellow, purple, red, green - any contrast paint color you have. Maybe a purple Drukhari sword or a green Death Guard plague weapon?
This isn't limited to Warhammer either. If you want to paint a glowing magical weapon for your Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder miniatures you can use this method! I know next time I paint up a D&D mini with a magic sword I'll probably just follow this!
