EVH SA 126 - STEALTH DEMOS - IS WOLF'S GUITAR AWESOME or NOT???
Hey now... WASSUP... everybody! On this very Special Episode #126 of...
GUITAR CENTER STEALTH DEMOS...
I founnd one of the elusive EVH SA-126 guitars in the WILD! I happened to find what they're calling a Tobacco Burst, though it looks more like an Iced Tea Burst or Sunset Burst to me... with a glorious gloss quilted maple top! The mahogany body is gloss finished, with an excellent feeling bolt on, roasted satin maple neck! Though the frets could have used a little bit more work on the edges (I would say it gets a two or three on the Phil McKnight Scale) it otherwise sounded and played great. The tuning buttons were okay, not the highest quality... I'd probably change them to Gotoh, or similar quality locking tuners... all around the fit and finish is typical of a made in Mexico type EVH guitar. The only other thing I'd probably also change are the knobs, perhaps EVH style 5150 type knobs or maybe some black speed knobs. The pickups sound great, specially designed for Wolf's TONE!
It's a pretty big body guitar compared to most EVH guitars, but not as big as an E-335 and I like that considering it's a semi-hollow. zreally balanced out with that cool new EVH headstock. It's a perfect weight, if you ask me... felt really nice on my lap and imagine would be great playing standing up. I'm definitely planning to buy one, though I'm probably going to hold out for one of the next years models if they have Bone White or that Matte Pastel Pink color I've seen Wolf often playing on Tour. Maybe they'll come out with cousin Wolf Van Halen Tour Models... but until then... this it's a no brainer... best marriage between a High Octane EVH Shredder and a Hollow Body electric...I think his Pops is smiling down on his Son right now... Wolf has done it again!

I'm sure I left out a few things and I'll probably have a chance to play the guitar again early next week..... this first time around I played it through that EVH combo amp that sounded pretty darn killer!
